Application
Radiators for Heavy Equipment
Background
This facility is manufacturing radiators for the heavy equipment market.
They supply the after market with over 600 different types and sizes of
radiators for various engines.
Problem
Until recently their radiators were never cleaned...just shipped directly
to the customer with light oils on the interior and the exterior. Their
customer complaints escalated to the point that they had to make a change.
To meet their needs, the cleaning system had to be capable of the following:
a) washing (flushing) the interior and exterior of 10 various sized radiators
at a time, b) blowing out any excess water on the inside of the radiators,
c) having a cycle time of less than 5 minutes, d) occupying a small footprint,
and e) running consistently for 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Solution/System
A standard stainless steel F-5000-P with a custom fixture that holds 10
radiators side-by-side. A high-pressure hose with stainless steel quick-disconnect
is attached to each radiator to supply both the cleaning solution and
the compressed air to the interior of the radiators. The outside of the
radiators are cleaned with the standard spray manifold. Cycle time to
achieve the desired cleanliness level is just under 5 minutes.
