Background
This customer is an international manufacturer of
rubber closures and
aluminum / plastic caps for pharmaceutical packaging,
drug delivery and diagnostics.
Problem
This factory uses hundreds of plastic tubs and totes
to hold and transport raw materials (powders) and their
finished products. These totes have to be cleaned after
each use to prevent cross contamination. The problem
was that all this cleaning was being done by hand. They
needed an automatic system that could output 200 tubs
per hour.
Solution/System
Better Engineering designed the washer with
a U-shaped conveyor so that one operator can load
and unload the tubs. The tubs are washed on the
incoming side, rinsed where the conveyor takes
a U-turn, and then dried as they head back to
the operator.
