Background
This company is a tier one automotive supplier specializing in high performance powertrain components.
Problem
The manifolds are loaded with chips on the outside and throughout the passageways. Their old cleaning system removed most of the contamination on the outsides of the parts but left a lot of chips in the passageways. If their customers found even one part with inside contamination, they had to send workers to their customer's plant to hand inspect and hand clean every part in the shipment. This was expensive, embarrassing, and demoralizing.
 Solution
Supply the customer with several cell washers (turntable style) that could thoroughly clean 2 manifolds every 3 minutes… special fixtures and manifolds insured that a high volume of wash solution would shoot thru the passageways...a rotary coupler allowed the "flush" nozzles to travel with the part while the turntable revolved for outside cleaning...the manifolds come out clean and dry 100% of the time.
System
A F-4000-P jet washer with custom fixturing and spray manifolds... pump was upsized for additional flow....chip screens and bag filters prevented contaminants from re-depositing on the parts.
