BACKGROUND
The company is one of the world leaders in marine propulsion systems. They manufacture inboard and outboard engines. Changes in emission standards have led to major redesigns in the engines. With these redesigns, the company needed to modernize their plants and machinery. In needing a partner to manufacture a variety of wash systems for various cleaning applications, they chose Better Engineering.
PROBLEM
The part in question was a cylinder head. The customer wanted a small compact system that would fit into their work cells, be easy to use, and produce clean/dry parts in just minutes.
SOLUTION
Supply a turntable style spray washer with a roll-in door. A conventional door would need space for swinging open and close this style enabled the customer to fit the system within a small workplace since the door could roll back into the unit. BE would then work with the customer's engineers to design a load assist arm that would allow the operator to pick-up the part and place it onto the turntable.
SYSTEM
The CE-3000 jet washer: 37" diameter turntable and 48" of working height, all wetted parts are stainless steel, the part locks into the fixture with one hand, the spray and dry manifolds are specifically designed to flush-out the cylinder head.
