Parts washing system for STAMPING SPECIALIST to remove machining oils from telecom housings.

A Compact System
That Could Load the
Parts Directly from
the Press to Wash,
Rinse, and Dry Them

BACKGROUND
This company specializes in precision metal stampings as well as related fabrication and assembly. They have several plants in the US and Mexico and their manufacturing equipment ranges from high speed 100 ton presses to large bed 600 ton presses.

PROBLEM
One of their high tech customers demanded that their parts are cleaned prior to shipment or they would no longer except parts if they were coated with stamping oils. The stamper wanted to clean the parts right after they came off the press but there was not much floor space.

SOLUTION
Design a small, compact belt washer that not only could fit in the allowed space but also accept parts directly from the press without manual intervention. The system would need to clean and dry the lightweight parts without blowing them off the conveyor belt. This proved to be a challenge, but was overcome by fine tuning the flow through of all the manifolds.

SYSTEM
C-14-S2/S2/DH Cyber-Jet: 14" wide conveyor belt, three (3) modules (wash, rinse, and dry stages), blow-off knives in the exit end of the wash and rinse modules, all stainless wetted parts, and the spray & dry manifolds have multiple adjustment features.
