Background
The customer is one of the top five (5) forklift manufacturers in the world with manufacturing plants in several countries. The most important part of their machinery are the hydraulic cylinders.
 Problem
Our client needed to clean cylinders that are 3-4" in diameter and 100" high before assembly. They are closed on one end – cleaning the inner diameter is most critical. The customer wanted a batch system but was worried about the ergonomics of loading and unloading.
Solution
Design a spray washing system that would be mounted in a pit such that the turntable surface was even with the ground. The door is powered to the side (there was not enough room to raise the door vertically). The cylinders can either be loaded one at a time or the entire fixture can be rolled out of the unit.
System
A F-4000LX-P jet washer with a 40" diameter turntable and 110" of inside working height. The bottom spray manifolds are radiused so that the nozzles blow into the open ends of the cylinders; the unit can wash and dry 16 cylinders at a time in just 15 minutes.
