Challenge
The operation needed a dependable and sanitary method for cleaning medical waste bins and Sharps® containers used in hospitals and laboratories. These containers require consistent, high-level decontamination, but the existing process lacked the efficiency and throughput to keep up with demand while maintaining strict cleanliness standards.
Approach
Better Engineering worked closely with the customer to understand the range of container sizes, required throughput, and sanitation goals. From there, the team engineered a custom conveyorized system designed to wash, sanitize, and dry containers in one continuous process. The system was built with flexibility in mind, incorporating an adjustable rail design that allows operators to accommodate varying container sizes without interrupting workflow.
Results
The Cyberjet C-24-S5 system delivered a major boost in efficiency, increasing throughput to up to 200 bins per hour while maintaining consistent sanitization at temperatures of 180°F or higher. Its adjustable rail system enabled seamless processing of different container sizes, reducing manual intervention and creating a more reliable, repeatable cleaning operation.
Conclusion
By implementing the Cyberjet C-24-S5 conveyor washer, the operation gained a powerful and adaptable cleaning solution tailored to the demands of medical waste handling. The system’s combination of high throughput, consistent sanitation performance, and flexible design ensures it can meet both current needs and future growth, providing a durable, long-term solution for maintaining cleanliness in critical healthcare environments.
