ImmersoSonic S-60

The ImmersoSonic S-60 is a heavy-duty industrial ultrasonic parts washer designed for larger components, heavier baskets, and demanding precision cleaning applications. Built as part of Better Engineering’s modular ImmersoSonic line, the S-60 combines heated immersion cleaning, powered agitation, and optional ultrasonic cleaning to remove oils, chips, carbon, polishing compounds, oxidation, and other contaminants from the surfaces of complex parts.

Description

As a larger-capacity industrial ultrasonic cleaner, the S-60 is ideal for parts with blind holes, threads, recesses, internal passages, and intricate geometries where spray-only cleaning may not provide complete coverage. Due to the size and weight of the parts typically processed in these systems, S-60 washers are commonly configured with integrated automation to safely and efficiently move baskets or fixtures through each stage of the cleaning process.

Automation options may include walking beam basket indexing, overhead gantry transfer, powered load/unload stations, tank-to-tank transfer, robotic handling, recipe controls, data logging, and automated drying modules. These features reduce manual handling, improve operator safety, maintain consistent dwell times, and ensure larger or heavier parts move smoothly through the wash, rinse, filtration, oil-removal, and drying stages.

Configure the S-60 as a standalone ultrasonic parts cleaner or expand it into a fully automated, multi-stage cleaning system built around your parts, production volume, cleanliness requirements, and available floor space.

Heavy-Duty Modular Ultrasonic Cleaning System

The S-60 immersion ultrasonic cleaning system is built for applications that require greater working capacity than smaller ImmersoSonic models. Designed for larger components, heavier loads, and demanding cleaning requirements, the S-60 can be configured with heated wash tanks, rinse stages, ultrasonic cleaning, powered platform agitation, filtration, oil removal, and drying modules in the sequence your process requires.

Because of its larger size and load capacity, the S-60 is commonly integrated with automation to safely and efficiently move baskets or fixtures through each stage of the cleaning process. Automation options may include walking beam basket indexing, overhead gantry transfer, powered load/unload stations, tank-to-tank transfer, robotic handling, recipe controls, data logging, and automated drying modules. Typical S-60 configurations may include:

  • S-60-HT: Heated immersion cleaning module with a 650-gallon tank, 60 kW electric heat, and powered platform oscillation. Features a 60″ × 36″ powered platform with an immersion depth of up to 26″
  • S-60-CT: Ambient-temperature immersion cleaning module with a 650-gallon tank, no heat, and powered platform oscillation. Features a 60″ × 36″ powered platform with an immersion depth of up to 26″.
  • S-60-DH: Heated drying module with recirculated air and powered platform oscillation.

Heated drying module with a 36 kW air-heating system, recirculating air, and powered platform oscillation. Features a 60″ × 36″ powered platform with an allowable work height of up to 26″.

Whether your process requires a single heated ultrasonic washer or a complete wash-rinse-dry system, the S-60 can be engineered around your part size, soils, throughput, and cleanliness standards.

Immersion, Agitation & Ultrasonic Cleaning

The ImmersoSonic S-60 immersion washer is built to clean large or complex parts more thoroughly than static soaking. Parts are loaded into baskets, racks, or custom fixtures and submerged in an aqueous cleaning solution. Powered platform agitation moves the load vertically through the bath, improving solution exchange and helping remove contamination from part surfaces.

For more demanding precision-cleaning applications, optional ultrasonic cleaning adds high-frequency cavitation during the immersion stage. This cavitation action helps remove fine soils from threads, blind holes, ports, recesses, and internal passages that are difficult to clean with spray washing alone.

Optional turbulation, filtration, oil skimming, and oil-water coalescing can be added to maintain bath quality and help prevent contamination from redepositing onto cleaned parts.

Precision Cleaning Applications

The ImmersoSonic S-60 ultrasonic cleaning system is well-suited for manufacturers and rebuild operations cleaning larger parts, heavier components, or high-value assemblies with complex geometries. Common applications include:

Why Choose the ImmersoSonic S-60?

  • Larger cleaning capacity: The S-60 provides a larger ImmersoSonic platform for oversized parts, heavier baskets, and more demanding cleaning applications.
  • Enhanced cleaning performance: Powered agitation moves parts through the cleaning solution to improve contact and consistency compared with static soak tanks.
  • Access to complex geometries: Optional ultrasonic cleaning helps remove contamination from blind holes, internal passages, threads, ports, and recessed features.
  • Reduced redeposition: Filtration, oil skimming, oil-water coalescing, and bath management options help remove suspended and floating soils from the cleaning process.
  • Flexible module sequencing: Combine heated wash, rinse, ultrasonic cleaning, filtration, oil removal, and drying stages in the order your process requires.
  • Built for industrial use: Stainless steel construction, powered lids, industrial controls, and rugged system options support demanding production environments.
  • Expandable modular design: Add wash, rinse, ultrasonic, drying, or automation features as production requirements evolve.
