Perforated stainless steel sheets present a unique cleaning challenge. The customer needed a solution capable of delivering consistent, high-quality cleaning across a wide range of part dimensions, from small sheets to large panels, all while maintaining a high production rate of up to 1,000 sheets per hour. Achieving thorough cleaning without slowing throughput or introducing cross-contamination was critical.
Approach
Better Engineering designed a custom Cyberjet C-60 wash/rinse/dry conveyor washer tailored to the demands of perforated stainless steel cleaning. The system incorporates multiple stages, including wash, rinse, and heated dry cycles, to ensure complete contaminant removal and part readiness.
A strategically positioned blow-off chamber was integrated between stages to minimize carryover and improve drying efficiency. The conveyor system was engineered to operate at speeds up to 22 feet per minute, enabling high-volume processing without sacrificing cleaning quality.
Careful attention was given to spray coverage and process sequencing, ensuring that both the surface and internal perforations of each sheet received thorough and consistent cleaning throughout the cycle.
Results
The Cyberjet C-60 delivered precise and repeatable cleaning results across all part sizes, effectively removing cutting oils and meeting strict cleanliness standards. Its high-speed conveyor design enabled the customer to maintain exceptional throughput while improving overall process efficiency.
