V-1000 SERIES VAT, buggy WASHERS.

Vat and Buggy Washers

Over 50% of food processors still manually clean their vats or buggies, which consumes a significant amount of water, detergent, and labor. Better Engineering’s automated vat washer inverts bins 90 degrees over an “E” shaped, powered manifold. The manifold thoroughly cleans all product contact surfaces on the interior and exterior of the vat using a high-volume spray.

Sanitizing WAshers

Better Engineering’s buggy washers are batch-operation machines built to the highest hygienic standards with industry-leading capabilities. The series generally complies with 3-A general guidelines for sanitary design; these systems are purpose-built for automated cleaning and sanitizing of vats, buggies, IBCs, totes, bins, and containers in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Better Engineering can customize IBC tote washers and Vat and Buggy Washers to accommodate containers of various sizes. For higher volume applications, our bin washers can be designed with a dual bay to wash two bins simultaneously. These systems are installed above ground with minimal site preparation. The drawbridge-style door mechanism allows containers to be rolled onto the door when lowered by an operator.

Detergent wash, optional heated rinse, and optional sanitizing rinse are sprayed through v-jet nozzles on rotating manifolds.

To provide an even deeper clean, BE provides the option to upgrade to linear-sweeping manifolds. This ensures thorough, high-impingement, full-coverage cleaning to remove stubborn soils and contaminants. Additionally, the system features an automatic self-cleaning sequence to scour the tanks and cabinets in-between cycles to prevent cross-contamination.

The cabinet is hygienic by design—the cabinet floor slopes into a working tank covered by chip screens. Standard cycles are non-recirculated to reduce cross-contamination and uphold cleaning efficacy. Optional holding tanks can allow recirculation to conserve detergent, heat, and water while retaining cleanliness in the working tank.
